Project: Seven Asterisks
Logline: Two people avoid acknowledging an irreversible change in their friendship, with painful consequences.
SEVEN ASTERISKS
This story is based off of my own experiences, and I use songs that remind me of that person to solidify the whole plot. Since I never got the ending I wanted in real life, I made my character suffer the same fate. The title is called ‘Seven Asterisks’ because the girl has seven letters in her name and I have a playlist with the same title.
Storyline
Set in a universe where you are only able to see the world in colour once you’ve met your soulmate, but the catch is, the person who gives you colour is not necessarily the one to be given colour by you. Matches will remain one-sided until you finally find someone who feels the same way you do, only then will they also be able to view the world in colour. As you start to lose feelings for them, you will then see the world in grey tones once again. The cycle repeats over and over until you find your true soulmate.
Introducing Han, a romantic fool who have only ever seen the world in black and white. Not once, in their 21 years of being alive, have they found someone to give them colour. Queue Valerie, Han’s next-door neighbor who is the same age as them, an outgoing and energetic girl who is the complete opposite of Han’s broody personality. Colours start bursting all around Han as soon as they make eye contact with Valerie when she came over to welcome them to the neighbourhood. After knowing that Valerie doesn’t see the same colours as they do, their hopes falter a bit but they try to put up a front. As the months progresses, so do their relationship to one another. They quickly become good friends and due to their shared interest of physical affection, they soon become more touchy with one another. Of course, it’s all just platonic love, until Han decides to tell Valerie what’s really been going on, colours and all.
After getting turned down, their friendship faltered for a moment, to the point where Valerie would not return any calls or texts from Han. After a while, Valerie would show up out of nowhere, after being uncontactable for days, at Han’s doorstep with no explanation whatsoever about her whereabouts. They soon try to return to how they were before Han decided to screw up their friendship a bit. Though it’s slowly working, Han still can’t help but feel suspicious that Valerie is hiding something, but for the sake of their fragile friendship, Han lets it go.

FOR A BETTER TOMORROW
Although this isn’t the 1900s anymore, some people still seem to be living in that era, and countless girls in the world are being forced into marriages with older men against their will. although we can’t end forced marriages altogether, it’s good enough to raise awareness on these matters in hopes that people would change their minds.
This animation will feature little to zero dialogue, so as to reach a wider audience, since this issue is happening not only in South Asia and Africa, it’s also occurring in Uganda, Niger, India, and more.
Storyline
Aries lived a normal life, going to school and back home, only once in a while hanging out with her friends after classes. She was a really diligent kid who would do as she was told so as to not upset her parents. Shortly after her little sister was born a month ago, Aries started being more hardworking in school. She’s aware of her family’s financial situation, and strives to be a lawyer (or anything else) when she’s older. All of a sudden, Aries comes home to find her parents and an unknown white man sitting in her living room seemingly having a discussion about something. She approaches them and asks what’s happening. Turns out, her family can no longer afford her school fees due to her growing family and what not, so they had no choice but to turn to other methods, and unfortunately that includes marrying aries off to a rich man. Aries was mortified to hear the news, internally gagging at the thought of being with a man who’s nearly three times her age. She’d heard stories of young girls being married off before, including her own classmates, but she never thought she would be one of them. sadly, Aries was unable to object to her predicament, so she had no choice but to comply. As she approached the man who introduces himself as Adrian, she instantly had a bad feeling about him. He put on such a nice front infront of her family, but Aries saw right through the bull. She forced a smile for him, but on the inside she was screaming and hoping this was all a bad dream. Adrian promised to take the financial burden off their backs, and while he did do that, in turn he made Aries’s life a living hell for months. when Aries decided that she couldn’t take it anymore, she took a pocket knife and hid it in her clothes, so that when Adrian does his daily abuse, she would stab him in defence, just so that if she were to be questioned she’d say that she did it in self-defence. Aries then ran away to find solace back in her family’s home. From then on, she pledged to be an advocate for the victims of underage marriage.

Adapted and inspired by Eric Khoo's 'Be With Me', two girls get together only for one of them to cheat on the other.
Storyline
Two girls with contrasting personalities first meet on social media, and they soon meet one another in real life after a few months. they quickly fall in love with one another and everything is smooth sailing, until it is revealed that one of them is cheating on the other.
